Our Love Bug.... Camera Critters and Pet CPR

This here is our Dear Sweet Kaehlyr, she's a 13 year old Miniature Schnauzer.

She gave us quite a scare this week - she fainted/had a seizure and quit breathing.

We're still trying to figure out exactly what happened... but one thing is for sure -

without Pet CPR she wouldn't be with us on this beautiful Saturday morning!

I was only aware of how to do this procedure because my mom has had to perform it on her own dog.
Thankfully! I was prepared. Are you??

This is a revolving art installation in Yokohama Japan.

My husband grabbed this shot with his cell phone while on a recent business trip there.

He said it was quite visible from his hotel window - 61 floors up!

I thought for sure this guy was a goner, after flying into our the kitchen window.
He layed like this for several minutes before I noticed some very subtle movements.

I was able to capture these before he completely regained his composure :)

Odd Shot Monday... The Trash Hike

While coming back from Lake Eerie this weekend we came across this -
a trash can & a newspaper box, just hangin' out on the highway by the guard rail.
The only house anywhere in sight was this farmhouse (behind the tree) -
a good a 15 minute walk away and up the hill.
I just thought, wow! That's quite a hike to take out the trash...
what if you forgot something?
Oh honey?!

It's just a bit blurry in the foreground... what can I say, we were in the car doing about 70 MPH.

I discovered this sweet little guy sunning himself in our rock garden.
He was just about 2 feet long and was totally enjoying the sunshine and the warmth of the rocks.

I love how photography helps you discover and appreciate the beauty that is all around us.

Nebulous... Sky Watch Friday

We're quickly learning that there is rarely ever a clear day here in Pittsburgh. Even more rare are sunny days - astoundingly we can only expect to see about 53 days of sunshine a year. The only city in the nation that can best that is Seattle - they enjoy a mere 50 days.

That would be our luck huh!?

Ah well, cloudy and overcast still beats 298 + days of snow and 359 + days of wind.
Least ways in my book :)

So anyhow - the sun was actually out today, so I quickly grabbed a few shots.

His favorite is to pick up big slimy handfuls, hold it close to his face and pretend to taste it.
